Pieces of Evidence:
Function 4A: Professional Learning
Attending a professional learning day focused on IEP updates shows that I am actively working to improve my teaching practice. By learning about the changes to IEPs at the high school level, I gained a better understanding of how to support students and meet their needs. This experience helped me reflect on my own teaching and make adjustments that fit better with current practices. It also shows my commitment to continuing to learn and grow as an teacher.

Function 4B: Professional Collaborative Practice
This interview demonstrates that I am actively engaged in learning with others and value collaboration to improve my teaching practice. Through my conversation with Ashlee Kuca, I gained insight into how WVTSS and the PARK PBIS system are implemented at Wheeling Park High School. By discussing behavior supports, progress monitoring, and intervention strategies, I was able to learn how collaboration between teachers, counselors, and support staff helps address both academic and behavioral needs. This experience shows that I  take advantage of opportunities to learn from other teachers, ask questions, and reflect on effective practices.Â
Function 4C: Reflection on Practice
Collecting data in my first placement supports this standard by allowing me to see how students respond to my teaching and identify areas for improvement. By analyzing the data, I was able to adjust lessons, instructional strategies, and supports to better meet student needs. This process demonstrates that I engage in continuous reflection and make informed decisions to improve my teaching practice and enhance student learning outcomes.
Function 4D: Professional Contribution
I demonstrated this skill by recognizing a student’s behavioral regression and working collaboratively with my co-teacher to develop a new strategy to better support his needs. As his behavior changed due to a medication adjustment, we took initiative to  implement a new idea (a behavior booklet) to help guide and improve his actions in the classroom. This  approach shows my commitment to improving my teaching practice and supporting student learning. By adapting to the student’s needs and trying new strategies, I contributed to a more effective and responsive learning environment.
